Philosophy for Children Facilitation Online Course
2 hours Saturdays
January 10 - March 14, 2026Elevate your Philosophy for Children facilitation practice by taking a deep dive into dialogue facilitation theory and practice using the community of inquiry approach. Reflect on your current practices, gain valuable one-on-one coaching, and grow your skills by learning from fellow participants.

IAPC Residential Summer Course
August 1-8, 2026
Participants in this course will experience and practice facilitating a “community of philosophical inquiry” with adults and explore the theoretical dimensions of philosophy for children. This course is held at St. Marguerite’s Retreat House in Mendham, New Jersey, and the course fee includes lodging and meals. It can be taken for Montclair State University master’s level credit.

P-12 Philosophy Curriculum
Our curriculum engages young people in exploring the logical, ethical, political, aesthetic, and other philosophical dimensions of their experience. The curriculum consists of short novels for students and instructional manuals containing activities to supplement students inquiry.

Thinking in Stories
Since 1979, Thinking in Stories has provided reviews of children’s and young adult literature containing philosophical perplexities ripe for inter-generational dialogue.

Thinking: The Journal of Philosophy for Children
Published from 1979 through 2014, Thinking was a forum for the work of theorists and practitioners of philosophical practice with children, and published philosophical argument and reflection, classroom transcripts, curricula, empirical research and reports from the field.

IAPC Scholarship
The IAPC Digital Commons contains recordings of IAPC academic events, oral and written histories, collected papers of IAPC Faculty and Fellows, and doctoral dissertations in Pedagogy and Philosophy.
